Overview

The Ridewave Koala Electric Trike is the most compact model in the Ridewave electric trike range. It is designed for riders who want a smaller, lighter and easier-to-manage three-wheel electric trike for local trips, short rides and everyday errands.

With 16x3" tyres, a lower seat height and a more compact frame, the Koala is especially well suited to riders who are not very tall, have limited storage space, or prefer a trike that feels less bulky than larger models.

Who the Koala is for

The Koala is a strong fit for riders who want the stable feel of a three-wheel electric trike in a more approachable size. It is designed for local shopping, neighbourhood rides, short daily trips and relaxed outings rather than long-distance touring.

Its lower seat height, compact wheel setup and lighter overall weight make it easier to live with for riders who want something practical, comfortable and simple to manage day to day.

Compact and easier to manage

The smaller 16x3" tyre setup helps keep the Koala more compact than larger Ridewave trikes. Combined with a 37 kg weight with battery, 69-79 cm seat height and 39 cm step-through height, the Koala is made to feel more accessible for shorter riders and those who prefer a lower riding position.

Comfort for local rides

The Koala includes a wide comfort seat with adjustable backrest, suspension seat post and ergonomic handlebar setup. These features help support a relaxed riding position for local rides, errands and everyday use.

The 16x3" puncture-resistant fat tyres provide a steady ride feel on regular streets, shared paths and everyday surfaces.

Motor, battery and controls

The Koala uses a high-torque rear brushless motor with 65Nm of torque for everyday electric assistance. The 48V 15Ah battery uses EVE cells and is removable and lockable, making charging and storage more practical.

Pedal-assist range is up to 100 km, based on pedal assist level 1 on flat road. Actual range can vary depending on rider weight, load, terrain, tyre pressure, wind, temperature, riding style and assist level.

The CurrentSync pedal assist sensor is designed to provide smooth assistance while riding. The cockpit includes a colour LCD display, half-twist throttle with low-speed start assist, Shimano 7-speed gearing and ergonomic grips.

Braking and parking

The Koala is fitted with hydraulic disc brakes braking all three wheels, along with a parking brake for added convenience when stopping or parking the trike.

Everyday cargo space

A rear cargo basket is included, giving the Koala practical carrying space for groceries, bags, small parcels and daily essentials. This makes it useful for short shopping trips and local errands without needing to carry everything on your back.

Key specifications

Ridewave ships e-bikes, e-trikes, parts, and accessories Australia-wide from our Melbourne warehouse. Free shipping applies only to parts and accessories orders over $100; orders under $100 have a flat $10 shipping fee. E-bikes and e-trikes are bulky freight items, and their delivery cost is calculated at checkout based on your delivery address and vehicle type.

• In-stock orders are processed Monday to Friday, with tracking sent after fulfilment.
• E-bikes and e-trikes are bulky freight items, so delivery timing can vary by postcode, suburb, product size, carrier capacity, and remote-area handling.
• Parts and accessories may travel with your e-bike or e-trike, or be sent separately depending on the order and carrier. If items are sent separately, you will receive a separate tracking email for each shipment.
• Remote and island locations are included in the checkout delivery calculation. Some orders may need our usual delivery checks before dispatch, but accepted orders will not receive a separate post-checkout freight surcharge.
• Click & Collect is available from Ridewave showrooms. Sydney pickup may require stock transfer from Melbourne before collection.

These times are estimates, not guaranteed delivery dates. Freight timing can be affected by your postcode, regional or remote-area handling, carrier capacity, weather, public holidays and other transport conditions.

Once an order has been dispatched, we may be unable to cancel or recall it. If you change your mind after delivery, please contact us before returning anything. Eligible unused, unopened and unassembled items may be returned under our change-of-mind policy; return freight, original delivery charges and applicable fees may apply. This does not affect your rights if your product is faulty, incorrectly supplied or damaged in transit.

Ridewave provides a 1-year limited warranty on eligible products against manufacturing faults and defects under normal intended use. Warranty assessment depends on the product, purchase date, issue type, usage, assembly, maintenance, and review by the Ridewave team.

• Eligible warranty claims may involve replacement parts, repair support, or another appropriate solution after assessment.
• Warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, tyre punctures, misuse, water damage, unauthorised modifications, improper assembly, lack of maintenance, crash damage, or third-party repairs completed without written approval.
• Please keep your proof of purchase and submit photos or videos when making a warranty claim, as Ridewave reviews evidence before approving warranty outcomes.
• Warranty support is provided in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law.

Eligible change-of-mind returns may be accepted within 30 days of purchase in line with Ridewave's return policy. Returned items must be unopened, unused, unassembled, undamaged, in original packaging, and approved by Ridewave before being sent back.

• Contact Ridewave before returning any item. Our team will review the request and provide return instructions if the return is approved.
• Opened, assembled, used, ridden, damaged, or altered products are not accepted for change-of-mind returns by default.
• Return shipping costs, original shipping costs, restocking fees, refused-shipment costs, and payment processing fees may be deducted where applicable.
• Approved refunds are processed to the original payment method after the returned item has been received and inspected.
